Believe it or not, many believers are in a perilous predicament of striving against sin.
Paul’s statement, “old wretched man that I am”, expresses several lessons he learned trying to deal with his old sinful desires. [Romans 7:14-15] It is God’s mandate that all believers must come forth [prosperous] in His image and likeness! However, the evil one aggressively attacks the members of the body of Christ, thus bringing some into a mental inferior state of spiritual bondage.
Again, Paul said, “that when I would do good, but I do it not!” Why is this? The power of sin has come to push you into demonic bondage; thus making you powerless towards Christ but robust to do evil. Making you a fragile slave to serve Satan.
We often say, “In my mind I want to be God’s willing servant, but I find myself enslaved to the dictates of the flesh. God is not pleased with disloyal believers that are lagging in their efforts to arise above such sinful state. Therefore, the eldership must cry out to the Father to bring freedom to the hearts of those in Satan’s grip!
Christ Jesus is our deliverer! Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. This same Resurrected Spirit that’s in Christ dwells in all believers. [Romans 8:11] Each believer has the Father’s authority in their heart;
“Thy Word have I hid my heart, that I will not sin against God!” [Ps. 119:11]
Brethren, think about it; much prayer is needed for our community! We have a crucial and selfless responsibility to cry out for those souls in many forms of bondage. Believe it or not, you know someone that needs your fervent prayers!
